Design 5. Alsea Bay Bridge light-post lenses

Designed and produced for the Oregon Department of Transportation, the light-post lenses are mounted along the Alsea Bay Bridge, in Waldport Oregon along scenic Hwy 101. When the original bridge was to be replaced in 1988, residents of the seaside community of Waldport wanted to keep something of their historic bridge. The French glass lenses were an obvious choice and 16 of the new, art-deco style lenses, adorn the bridge from end to end. Cast in a clear resin with an inner and outer UV-stable surface coat, the lenses reflect the heritage of the bridge with new technologies. Havel Designs has worked on other lighting projects for the D.O.T. and other agencies, such as the west light rail portal light domes in Portland Oregon and various residential applications.
